Regardless if Alicia is working with an individual or a couple, her training as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist has taught her to look at the bigger picture of the system that all of us come from and currently reside in. Alicia utilizes an attachment-based approach in addition to Internalized Family Systems to help clients gain a better understanding of how their past experiences with others have contributed to their beliefs, symptoms, and unhealthy coping mechanisms that they currently can’t seem to break away from.
Alicia believes that each person has the innate knowledge of what is needed for them to truly heal but that sometimes those past experiences have made it difficult or even unsafe to tap into that inner knowing. Alicia enjoys working with adults and couples. She helps those struggling with trauma, relationship difficulties, anxiety, and low self-esteem rediscover their strength, voice, and gain clarity on what they really want out of life. Being that Alicia has also been on the client side of the therapy experience, she fully understands the importance of building a safe and supportive environment for her clients and encourages them to be an active participant during this process.
When not working as a therapist, she is likely spending time outside in nature, meditating, hiking, or reading. In addition to being a therapist, Alicia also is a partner and mother. She has a lovely blended family that consists of a partner, three daughters, one son, two dogs, and a minipig.
